Good fortune to have a new corps of volunteers
The last few months we have taken on a new group of volunteer mechanics. Torben Harrison, a new mechanic of our Wednesday shift, holds up the first bike he refurbished.

Thanks to everyone who donated to Wheels for Winners during The Big Share. With your generous donations, we were able to raise over $17,000! We look forward to putting those dollars to good use by improving biking across Madison. Look for us at repair events and community rides this summer!
Help us meet our fundraising goal by donating at https://www.thebigshare.org/organizations/wheels-for-winners. If you donate earlier, you can double your gift thanks to matches from Budget Bicycles and our volunteers.
This year your donations will fund our most ambitious project yet to promote access to bicycling within Communities of Color. In addition to doing what we do well, helping kids own their own wheels through our earn-a-bike program, we have big plans to support cycling in the community by (1) furnishing bikes for bike rodeos, (2) repairing hundreds of bikes at offsite locations, and (3) co-sponsoring and helping to develop community riding events in underserved neighborhoods. Since we are an all-volunteer organization, we keep our overhead low and your contributions will go directly to supporting our program activities such as buying supplies to refurbish donated bikes, getting helmets and locks to protect riders and their bikes, and paying for riding events.
